There are many scholarship opportunities for students to take advantage of in order to keep their education costs to a minimum. Granite State College offers the following scholarships and grant opportunities to our students:
Osher Reentry Scholarship Endowment Program
The Bernard Osher Foundation, headquartered in San Francisco, supports higher education and the arts and provides scholarships to selected institutions nationally.
The Osher Reentry Scholarship Endowment Fund, sponsored by the Bernard Osher Foundation, is designed to provide tuition assistance to eligible “reentry” Granite State College students who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree. A “reentry student” is a person who has experienced a cumulative gap of five or more years from their formal education and has not completed the requirements for a bachelor’s degree.
Granite State College will select at least 25 recipients per year and awards may not exceed $2000 per recipient or $50,000 total per year. Preference will be given to newly matriculated students or returning award recipients. To be eligible, the student must:

Unique Endowment Allocation Program
The UNIQUE Endowment Program provides increased, equal access and choice for deserving, high-need New Hampshire residents seeking the benefits of postsecondary education at a New Hampshire institution. The annual award is $1000 for full time students and $500 for half-time students. Awards are based on available funding and Granite State College cannot guarantee every eligible student will receive a Unique Endowment Scholarship. Alumni Learner Association (ALA) Scholarship
The Alumni Scholarship Fund provides up to ten $1,000 merit scholarships to deserving students every year. Our scholarship fund provides this support based on academic merit. New Hampshire Charitable Fund
New Hampshire residents pursuing undergraduate or graduate study at approved institutions of post secondary education are eligible to apply for grants and scholarships from this fund. The adult student aid program is designed specifically for adults returning to school to upgrade skills for employment or career advancement while the statewide student aid program is designed for the traditional student in a four year baccalaureate program.
College Equals Opportunity (CEO)
The CEO program awards scholarships each year to NH resident college students who have demonstrated academic achievement and outstanding leadership abilities.
Dollars for Scholars
Dollars for Scholars is the nation’s largest non-profit, private-sector scholarship and educational support organization. Since its founding, Scholarship America has distributed more than two billion dollars across the country through various programs including Dollars for Scholars.
Margaret McNamara Fund Grant Program
The MMMF provides grants to women from developing countries to help further their education and strengthen their leadership skills to improve the lives of women and children in developing countries. Eligible recipients must be from an approved deloping nation and studying in a degree program at a US Institution with a career goal of improving the lives of women in developing nations.
New Hampshire PTA Award
Each year, the New Hampshire PTA awards a scholarship to three students from four area colleges. The following eligibility requirements apply: Must be a resident of New Hampshire; must be in their junior, senior or graduate year; and must be in a degree program leading to a career in education.
NHHELCO’s Take It To The Bank Scholarship
The NHHEAF Network Organizations provide students and families with expert advice needed to assist in the college planning process. The Take it to the Bank Scholarship is one more way to encourage and support students. Enter to win the $1,000 drawing today!
The Gates Millennium Scholars Scholarship
Funded by a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) scholarship will be awarded to African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American students. GMS will select 1000 talented students to receive a good-though-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice.
Alpha Sigma Lambda Scholarship
Alpha Sigma Lambda's aim is to recognize the special achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work. Alpha Sigma Lambda is dedicated to the advancement of scholarship and recognizes high scholastic achievement in an adult student's career encouraging many students to continue toward and to earn their degrees.
Early Childhood Tuition Assistance Grant
Funded by the Child Development Bureau, the Early Childhood Tuition Assistance Grant will cover the full tuition for individuals taking their first Early Childhood Education College course or partial tuition for Early Childhood courses for all others who are eligible. To be eligible, students must be currently employed at a New Hampshire State licensed child care center, a family based child care center or work in a New Hampshire ECE Resource and Referral Network Agency a minimum of 20 hours a week.
